2024 WAFCON: Favourites, players to watch and predictions
Hosts Morocco seek to overcome 2022 heartbreak and lift the trophy on home soil for the first time
That’s not a typo in the title – the 15th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) is indeed kicking off a year later than scheduled. Morocco will host the tournament for the second of three consecutive times, starting 5 July.
Twelve teams have qualified and been drawn into three groups, from which the top two and the two best third-placed teams will progress to the quarter-finals. The coveted prize will be won in the final in Rabat on 26 July.
