Since Gareth Taylor was appointed Manchester City's manager, his average league finish has been 2nd. Hence, trophy logic is probably not the stick to beat Taylor with when analysing his base capacity, Adam. Instead, as the essence of the piece is, it is whether his ceiling can match up with where City aims to reach.

So winning nothing (as you don't get anything for finishing second) is better than actually winning a trophy.....is that what you are saying....??
Because last season Marc Skinner out performed him, due to the FA Cup win.
Taylor has an FA Cup, League Cup and UWCL group stage and City finished 20 points clear of United last season.
Makes the Jonas comparison in the piece weird though - multiple League Cups and a UWCL semi-final...
