Arsenal missed the chance to end Chelsea’s long unbeaten run under Sonia Bompastor in this weekend’s big Women’s Super League clash, ultimately rescuing a point from a game they had trailed in for nearly 80 minutes.

From two goals that didn’t stand, to one that did, the narrative around the match has been dominated by the performance of the match officials.

The analysis of the football itself has predictably taken a back seat in a match tarnished by controversy. That is a shame, considering there is a lot to unpick from this match from a tactical point of view.
