The Women’s Super League is widely regarded as one of the best in women’s football. This transfer window saw the transfer record being broken three times by teams in the WSL. Newly promoted London City Lionesses spent over £2m in a single window, signing players like Grace Geyoro, Elena Linari and Jana Fernandes.

In a world of big money signings, shrewd transfers and scouting are more valuable than ever. Signing undervalued players or young talents in the early phase of their development (or paying off a cheap release clause) can prove to be a viable option to close the financial gap.
