Real Madrid had started the Uefa Women’s Champions League campaign with a statement 6-2 win over AS Roma. Pau Quesada’s side were on a hot run of form, with eight games unbeaten since that loss to Atlético Madrid in the Madrid derby.

Next up for Las Blancas was a Parisian challenge that they have consistently failed to overcome. Real Madrid had faced Paris Saint-Germain four times before and had managed to score once, losing three of the four games so far. The French team had been a thorn in their side in previous editions of the competition.

However, when the two sides faced each other in the new format this time, Madrid came out winners. The Spanish side won the game 2-1, picking up two wins from two and extending their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions, with four wins in a row.
