The ink was barely dry on Fran Kirby’s international retirement announcement before another shock statement was posted on social media on Wednesday, moments after England’s 2-1 defeat to Spain ended their Nations League Finals hopes.
Millie Bright, England’s captain at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, revealed on Instagram that she would be withdrawing from selection for England’s Euro 2025 squad, just over 24 hours before it’s due to be announced.
