England shut out the noise from a chaotic week with a dominating 6-0 win over Portugal in the Uefa Nations League at Wembley on Friday night.

A hat-trick from Aggie Beever-Jones and goals from Beth Mead, Lucy Bronze and Chloe Kelly blew away any signs of attacking cobwebs for Sarina Wiegman’s side.

The result and performance was defiant in a week that has been dominated by the shock retirement of goalkeeper Mary Earps.
