Group stage matches can typically be seen as the games to ease us into the competition, but that certainly has not been the case with Euro 2025. Day four delivered as the Group C matches featured intensity and possible injury scares for key players, with Sweden and Germany coming through with wins.

Group C
Denmark 0 Sweden 1
Group C’s Scandinavian teams battled it out, and Sweden’s structure and experience eventually prevailed over Denmark. The breakthrough came in the 55th minute, when Filippa Angeldahl calmly slotted home the only goal of the game, securing a crucial three points for Sweden in their Euro 2025 opener. Kosovare Asllani got the assist on her 200th cap for Sweden.
Germany 2 Poland 0
The first half showed a frustrated Germany who were unable to find the breakthrough against a spirited Poland side. That was until Jule Brand found the back of the net at the start of the second half. Poland must be commended for their excellent defending in their historic first-ever Euros appearance. Germany’s quality eventually shone through when Lea Schuller doubled the lead in the 62nd minute. From there, Germany continued to press and were persistent with their dangerous crosses into the box until the final whistle.
