Late drama as Norway and Switzerland advance, and who will top Group B?
Despite late drama in both matches, Group A is complete, and Norway and Switzerland are the teams going through to the quarter-finals. Norway will play the runners up of Group B – either Italy or Portugal – and Switzerland will face Spain, the winners of Group B.

Finland 1 Switzerland 1
Switzerland only needed a draw to go through based on goal difference, and they delivered when it mattered most. After a close, goalless match for almost 80 minutes, Finland were given an opportunity and Natalia Kuikka scored a penalty with composure to give them the lead.
However, Switzerland went through with a late goal in stoppage time. Riola Xhemaili became the hometown hero, as her tap-in equaliser sent Switzerland through to their first-ever knockout stage in the Women’s Euros. What a moment for the hosts.
Norway 4 Iceland 3
Norway had already advanced, and Iceland were eliminated ahead of this match, but Iceland did not make it an easy win. Iceland struck first and refused to back down, adding a second goal in the 84th minute and converting a late penalty to finish with three. Marit Lund’s challenge earned her a red card, and she will miss the quarter-final as a result – a real blow to the Norwegians.
With six changes to the lineup ahead of the match, it was debutant Signe Gaupset who was the star of the show for Norway. She announced herself on the international stage with two goals and an assist – setting up Frida Maanum for Norway’s third. Maanum also scored the fourth and final goal to finish off their victory. Gaupset was in our ones to watch list of exciting talents Under 23 playing at Euro 2025. Check out the list and find out more about her.
