FA CEO Mark Bullingham: 'We need to make opportunities available for female coaches'
FA chief executive discusses pathway for women in coaching during briefing in Switzerland
Mark Bullingham, chief executive of the Football Association, has called for more opportunities for women in coaching as part of a wide-ranging discussion on the women’s game.
The senior executive was speaking to the media on Thursday ahead of England’s Euro 2025 final against Spain on Sunday.
He was quizzed on the future pathway for women in coaching, given the lack of women leading clubs in England’s top-tier WSL. Of the 12 teams currently in the league, just half have women in the head coach role. Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool (interim), West Ham and Leicester City all have female head coaches.
