Jayde Riviere signed for Manchester United back in January 2023 and until recently has gone quietly under the radar of the wider women’s football world. This season, United have had a few stand-out players with the likes of Phallon Tullis-Joyce, Celin Bizet, Hinata Miyazawa and Ella Toone all gaining praise from the United fanbase and the wider mainstream media. In the last month or so we have seen that praise shift over to right-back Riviere. At just 24 and with nearly 50 international caps for Canada to her name, Riviere has exciting potential. United recently tied her down to a new contract running until 2028, and there is a high chance she’ll play an important part in this United side for years to come. Here’s why.
