So that’s what it feels like to win a game. It has been a long time (late January) since Spurs secured victory in the WSL and even longer since they kept a clean sheet. This may not have been a perfect performance – and we repeatedly saw new manager, Martin Ho, gesturing in frustration as yet another long ball went out of play or players failed to find teammates in space – but this was a win.

Moreover, Spurs managed to shut out West Ham for the first time since 2021, something that is all the more impressive given the firepower the Hammers currently command, with Shekiera Martinez, Viviane Asseyi, Seraina Piubel and Riko Ueki all starting, and Manuela Pavi coming off the bench.
