England are back in action this week and will be taking on Belgium in two Uefa Nations League fixtures this window.

The first game takes place at Bristol City’s Ashton Gate stadium on Friday, before a return fixture in Leuven next Tuesday.

Sarina Wiegman’s side enter a crunch period of games where every minute matters ahead of this summer’s Euros. There are just four Nations League games and some prospective friendlies between now and England kicking off their tournament campaign against France on 5 July.

The general excitement and energy around this squad feels completely different from the deflated feeling that England ended 2024 with.

A statement 1-0 win against Spain in February has given the side a new lease of life. The post-2022 Euros and 2023 World Cup hangover was real, and it had been dragging on, but now it feels like England might have finally turned a corner.
