Tottenham broke their losing streak in the WSL with a 1-1 draw against Leicester City, having fought back from a goal down to rescue a point. Drew Spence’s well-taken strike felt momentous, as she became the first player outside of Bethany England to score from open play in the last five months.

Spurs dominated the game, with 65% of possession, 11 corners, 23 shots, 11 on target and 2.3 expected goals to Leicester’s 0.4 (FBRef). But, if the game offered hope, we also saw evidence that manager Robert Vilahamn’s problems remain in his troublesome second season in charge.
