Why Jess Park has been Manchester United's game changer this season

Midfielder has elevated United's attack since arriving in the summer

Manchester United continued their unbeaten run in the WSL with a 3-2 win at Brighton on Sunday. The result ended a run of back to back draws against the Seagulls on the road.

Goals from Elisabeth Terland, Jess Park and Lisa Naalsund secured the three points after some nervy moments for Marc Skinner’s side in the second half. The win keeps United within touching distance of league leaders Chelsea and one point behind rivals Manchester City, which sets up a dramatic Manchester derby in two weeks time.

However, beyond the crucial win for United, there was yet another standout performance from Jess Park. The 24-year-old has elevated United’s midfield and attacking play since arriving from City in the summer. Here’s why.

Leading from the front

Each week I run out of words to describe the brilliance of Park as she added another goal and assist to her tally for United this season, taking her to four goals and two assists in seven games.

Against Brighton, Park completed the most dribbles in the match out of any player (three) and created the most chances out of any player in the match (four) while also winning three out of four of her ground duels.

Her goal came from a brilliant link up with Ella Toone again, and another strike from the edge of the box which is where a lot of her goals in a United shirt have been coming from.
