Arsenal return to WSL action for the first time in three weeks as they take on Liverpool at the Emirates on Saturday.

Renee Slegers’ team will be without several key players after she revealed that goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar and winger Chloe Kelly are set for a spell on the sidelines.

That wasn’t the only topic of discussion in her pre-match press conference at Colney on Friday, as she also faced questions about dressing room unrest, her future at the club and some players that are returning to the squad after injury.

The major positive news for Arsenal is the return of the club’s two captains. Slegers confirmed that vice-captain Leah Williamson will be named in the match day squad for the first time since May’s Champions League win, having missed the first three months of the season with a knee injury sustained at Euro 2025.

The Arsenal head coach also confirmed the availability of Kim Little, who missed a series of crucial games in November, with the Gunners struggling in her absence. Slegers did however offer caution in terms of how many minutes the returning players could be expected to play tomorrow, and reinforced that the pair are “not fit enough to play 90 minutes”.
